Building personal relationships, empathizing with the problems of others, and helping to resolve those problems are all key tenets in the Katz Teller model. Wijdan Jreisat exemplifies those tenets, among others, which made her a perfect fit for Katz Teller as soon as she set foot in the door. Those people skills are put to good use in both her law practice and in her commitment to the community.
“People skills are one of my real passions and talents,” said the Katz Teller shareholder recently and those passions and talents were recognized as a 2018 honoree at the 39th anniversary of the YWCA Career Women of Achievement awards program in May.
The YWCA Career Women of Achievement Luncheon, established in 1980, seeks to increase community awareness and appreciation of the diverse contributions of women in the work force and in the community. It is the organization’s largest fundraising event, sponsored by 150 companies and organizations each year, with over 2,100 attendees. All proceeds directly benefit YWCA programs, supporting its mission to eliminate racism and empower women.
Wijdan’s dedication to women’s issues specifically, and the community as a whole, is exceptional. She is the founding member and past chair of Social Venture Partners Cincinnati, an organization of philanthropists who dedicate their time, money and prowess to support non-profits in the area. She is a member and immediate past chair of The Women’s Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation Leadership Council and also a member of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation Governing Board. She is also a former board member of the Corporation for Findlay Market, Downtown Cincinnati, Inc., Girl Scouts of Western Ohio and Girl Scouts Great Rivers Council.
Along with her philanthropic endeavors, she is equally exceptional in her professional life, being named an Ohio Super Lawyer® as one of the Top 50 attorneys in Cincinnati, Top 25 female attorneys in Cincinnati and one of the Top 50 female attorneys in Ohio by Law & Politics Media, Inc. in the areas of Family Law and Employment & Labor and Business Litigation. She has been named by Cincy Business Magazine as a “Leading Lawyer” every year since 2005, named as one of the Best Lawyers in America® every year since 2013, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
