Joe's practice was concentrated in the area of estate planning, income, estate and gift taxation.
Joe has taught an Estate Planning course at the University of Cincinnati’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute and has taught an Advanced Estate Planning course for the American College of Chartered Life Underwriters. He has been an adjunct professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Law where he has taught estate planning.
A frequent speaker at tax seminars, and at Estate Planning Councils in other Ohio cities, Joe is a past president of the Cincinnati Estate Planning Council, and has been chairman of the Cincinnati Bar Association Committee on Trusts, Wills and Estate Planning. He also served on the Board of the National Association of Estate Planners (NAEP) and the National Association of Estate Planning Councils. He was instrumental in having the Supreme Court of Ohio adopt rules to allow attorneys to incorporate in 1970.

Community Involvement
Joe is currently a member of Pro Seniors' Board of Trustees and the Advisory Board of the Ohio Innocence Project. Joe has also chaired the Cincinnati Zoo's Planned Giving Committee and was a member of the board of trustees of JEEP (Jewish Education for Every Person) which is an organization that helps local Jewish children, adults and seniors with special needs access Jewish education and other aspects of Jewish life.
